How To: Get Started & Learn the Navigation

Written Instructions

  1. The "My Projects" page is where all of your floor plans will reside and where each can be Opened, Renamed, and Deleted
  2. Always design and create floor plans on a computer, however, floor plans can be viewed on both computers and mobile devices
  3. To create a new floor plan, click on the “Create a New Project” button and select one of the following options:
    1. Start from Scratch - Draw the floor plan or upload a floor plan image and trace over it
    2. Choose a Template - Select a real venue or a generic space
    3. Open a Saved Project - Continue working on a floor plan you started or open a floor plan to make a copy
  4. Navigation items include the following:
    1. Save - Save floor plans before exiting the application
    2. Duplicate - Make a copy of the current floor plan (also used to create templates)
    3. Undo - Undoes the most recent action
    4. Redo - Adds back an action that was previously undone
    5. Group Selection - Group multiple items to make copies or delete
    6. Zoom In - Moves the floor plan in for a close up view
    7. Zoom Out - Moves the floor plan out for a wider perspective view
    8. Center Floor Plan - Centers the floor plan in the workspace
    9. Center Camera - Centers the camera in the workspace
    10. Help - Opens the video tutorials
    11. Levels - Adds additional floors of a venue/facility to the floor plan
    12. Inventory - Generates a list of all the items in the floor plan and the quantity of each and the seating chart if added
    13. 2D Plan - Overhead view of the floor plan
    14. 3D Walk - Enables you to walk through the floor plan as if you were standing there in person
    15. 3D Global - Provides a birds eye view of the floor plan
    16. Units of Measurement - Select either feet or meters

How To: Draw a Room

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the "BUILD" tab
  2. Click on the "Wall" drawing tool
  3. Left click your mouse where each corner of the room will be
  4. The room will snap together once you click all corners of the room and end by clicking on the starting point (press the "Escape" key on your keyboard to exit out of drawing mode)
How To: Upload a Floor Plan Image & Trace Over It

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the "BACKGROUND" tab
  2. Click the "Browse" button
  3. Locate the image on your computer, select it, and click the "Upload" button
  4. Click the lock icon in the "BACKGROUND" tab to lock the image in place
  5. Click the "Scale" button to scale the image
  6. Draw a line the length of one of the walls and then insert the actual wall dimension
  7. Click on the "BUILD" tab
  8. Click on the "Wall" drawing tool to trace over the image
  9. Left click your mouse where each corner of the room is located
  10. The room will snap together once you click all corners of the room and end by clicking on the starting point (press the "Escape" key on your keyboard to exit drawing mode)
How To: Draw an Outdoor Space

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the "BUILD" tab
  2. Click on the "Surface / Outdoor" drawing tool
  3. Left click your mouse where each corner of the outdoor space will be
  4. The outdoor space will snap together once you click all corners of the area and end by clicking on the starting point (press the "Escape" key on your keyboard to exit out of drawing mode)
  5. Click the Square Footage (located in the center of the area) to open the Area Properties window (opens to the right)
  6. Click the eye icon next to "Ceiling" to hide the ceiling
  7. Click the floor "Material" button to select the desired flooring
How To: Delete a Room or Space

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the square footage icon located on the floor and the Room Boundary window will open to the right
  2. Click the "Delete" button
  3. Click on a wall and the Wall Boundary window will open to the right
  4. Click the "Delete" button
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 for each wall
How To: Resize a Room

Written Instructions

  1. Click on a wall in the workspace
  2. Drag the wall to resize the room
How To: Add Walls & Columns

Written Instructions

  1. Click on either the exterior or interior wall feature located in the “BUILD” tab
  2. Left click your mouse where where the beginning and end of the wall will be located
  3. Double click your mouse or press the “escape” key on the keyboard to close the wall feature
  4. To make a wall a half height wall, click on the wall and the Wall Boundary window will open to the right
  5. Change the height of the wall to be less than the height of the ceiling
  6. To create a column use the "Interior" or "Exterior" wall feature located in the "BUILD" tab
  7. Left click your mouse where where the beginning and end of the column will be located
  8. Double click your mouse or press the “escape” key on the keyboard to close the wall feature
  9. Click on the column and the Wall Boundary window will open to the right
  10. Change the thickness of the wall to the desired column width
How To: Add a Corner to a Wall

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the wall that needs the corner added
  2. The Room Properties Window will appear on the right
  3. Click the "Add Corner" button
  4. Click the intersection where the wall split is located and drag to create the new corner
How To: Change Room Material, Color & Height

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the square footage icon located on the floor and the Room Properties window will open to the right
  2. Input the ceiling height in the "Height" field
  3. Click "Yes" to raise the height of all the walls in the Room to match the new ceiling height
  4. Click the ceiling "Material" button to select the desired ceiling
  5. Click the floor "Material" button to select the desired flooring
  6. Click the wall that needs the color or material changed
  7. Click "Material Right" or "Material Left" to change the appropriate side of the wall
  8. Select the desired wall material
  9. Check the "Change Color" box to change the wall color, then slide the color bar or input a Hex Code
How To: Add Levels

Written Instructions

  1. To add another level, or floor to the floor plan, click on the Levels icon to open the Levels window
  2. Add, Delete or Rename the floor within the window
  3. Click the Levels drop down to move between floors
How To: Add Room Construction

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the "FURNISH" tab
  2. Click the "Doors, Windows & Room Construction" category
  3. Scroll to see your options or search for an item by typing a keyword into the search bar
  4. Click and drag the item into the workspace

How To: Add Items to a Floor Plan

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the "FURNISH" tab
  2. Select a Category
  3. Scroll to see your options or search for an item by typing a keyword into the search bar
  4. Click and drag the item into the workspace
How To: Change Item Color & Size

  1. Click the item in the floor plan to open the Item Properties window (opens to the right)
  2. Input the new width, length and height dimensions in the respective fields
  3. Input the distance from floor dimension to raise a product off the ground (i.e., to raise an item off the floor and place it on a table)
  4. Click on the color box of the part of the item to change the color
  5. Select a color from the color pallet or input a Hex Code
  6. To apply the color to all of the same Items in the workspace, click the “Apply to All” button
How To: Copy & Delete Items & Autofill a Floor Plan

Written Instructions

  1. Click the "Group Items" tool located in the navigation bar
  2. Draw a square around the item(s) that need to be copied
  3. Select one of the following 3 options, located in the Group of Items window on the right:
    • Single Copy - Click the "Copy" button and then move the item(s) to the desired location while they are still highlighted
    • Copy to a Different Floor - Select the floor and then click the "Copy" button
    • Autofill the Floor Plan - Select the number of rows and the number of columns you need and the spacing between each copy (Note: If you need the column spacing to be different than the row spacing, you will need to perform this action two times – first by making the column copies and then secondly by making the row copies)
  4. To delete a group of items, draw a square around the items and click the delete button

How To: Label Rooms & Areas

Written Instructions

Rooms and areas can be labeled two ways:

  1. Click on the floor of the room or area that needs labeling and the Boundary window to the right
    1. In the "Room Name" field type the Name
    2. In the "Room Dimensions" field input the room or space dimensions
  2. Click on the "Notes" feature located in the "BUILD" tab
    1. Draw a box where you would like the room label to be located
    2. Click on the new box and the Notes window will open to the right
    3. In the "Notes" field type the Name of the room or area
    4. Change the text color, background color, opacity, and text size of the new label within this window
How To: Add Notes & Arrows

Written Instructions

To add a Note:

  1. Click on the “Notes” feature located in the "BUILD" tab
  2. Draw a box where you would like the Note to be located
  3. Click on the new box and the Notes window will open to the right
  4. In the "Notes" field type the desired Note
  5. Change the text color, background color, opacity, and text size of the new Note within this window
  6. Change the text orientation by resizing the text box to be vertical

To add an Arrow:

  1. Click on the “Arrow” feature in the “BUILD” tab
  2. Left click with your mouse where you would like the beginning and end of the arrow to be located
  3. Click on one of the ends of the arrow and drag to resize or change the orientation
  4. Change the color of the arrow by clicking on the arrow and opening the Arrow window to the right
How To: Add Dimensions

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the “Dimensions” feature located in the "BUILD" tab
  2. Left click your mouse where where the beginning and end of the dimension will be located
  3. Click on the dimension end handle to drag and resize it
  4. To delete a dimension, click on the dimenson to open the Dimension Window to the right and click the delete button
How To: Hide Layers

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the "BUILD” tab and the Visibility Options will be located at the bottom
  2. Items & Furniture - Uncheck the box to hide Items in the floor plan and recheck the box to make them visible again
  3. Room Labels - Uncheck the box to hide the Room Labels and recheck the box to make them visible again
  4. Wall Dimensions - Uncheck the box to hide the Wall Dimensions and recheck the box to make them visible again
  5. Floor Visibility - Slide the scale to the left to hide the floor and slide the scale to the right to show the floor

Emailing & Sharing Floor Plans

How To: Email a 2D & 3D Interactive Floor Plan

Written Instructions

The 2D and 3D interactive floor plan can be emailed to others for viewing on their computer 2 ways:

  1. Click on the red email icon in the upper right corner of the 3D Event Designer
    1. Input the recipient’s email address, name, and who it is from
    2. Click the "Send" button
  2. Copy and paste the URL link of the floor plan into an email and send it
How To: Share on Facebook & Twitter

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the "Twitter" or "Facebook" icon located on the right side of the navigation and tool bar
  2. A window will open and you will see the link to the floor plan, where you can also add additional text
  3. Insert your username and password
  4. Click the "Sign In" button
How To: View Floor Plans on Mobile Devices

Written Instructions

  1. While in the 2D view, select the "SNAPSHOTS" tab and click the "Save a Snapshot" button
  2. Name the floor plan snapshot
  3. Go into the 3D Walk view, and while in the "SNAPSHOTS" tab, click the "Standard Photo" and "Panoramic Snapshots" buttons and name accordingly
  4. Go into the 3D Global view, and while in the "SNAPSHOTS" tab, click the "Standard Photo" and "Panoramic Snapshot" buttons and name accordingly
  5. All snapshots in the Album are viewable on Mobile Devices by their link (double click on an image to open it and get its link)
  6. All snapshots are also located in the My Projects section of the website

Seating Charts & Inventory Lists

How To: Create a Seating Chart & Inventory List

Written Instructions

  1. Click on the table and input a number or name in the Label field in the Item Properties window (located to the right)
  2. Select the Seating Chart icon (3 dots located to the right of the Label field)
  3. Input all the guests' names that are sitting at the table, along with their entrée selections
  4. Click the "Inventory" button located in the top navigation bar
  5. The Inventory List and Seating Chart will be auto-populated for you to Print or save as a PDF to email
